Very expected game when 10th ranked Ironi Ramat Gan (4-8) lost at home to second ranked Hapoel Afula (10-2) 86-74 on Tuesday. Hapoel Afula made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for Puerto Rican forward Gilberto Clavell (200-89, college: Sam Houston St., agency: Inception Sports) who led his team to a victory with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Ziv Ben-Zvi (183-92) contributed with 19 points and 6 assists for the winners. American-Dominican forward Kelly Beidler (199-88, college: Mt.St.Mary's) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Oded Shaashoua (186-82, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Ironi Ramat Gan. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ironi Ramat Gan's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hapoel Afula keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Galil Gilboa and Hapoel B/S. Loser Ironi Ramat Gan dropped to the ninth place with eight games lost. Hapoel Afula will face Ironi Ashkelon (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Ironi Ramat Gan will play against Hapoel Kazrin (#12) and hope to win that game.
