Regular Season Round 12: Maccabi Raanana - Ironi K-A 74-71

A very close game took place in Raanana between Maccabi Raanana and Ironi Kiryat Ata. Fifth ranked Maccabi Raanana (7-5) got a very close home victory over one of their biggest challengers Ironi Kiryat Ata (9-3). Maccabi Raanana managed to escape with a 3-point win 74-71 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ironi Kiryat Ata. Maccabi Raanana dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Ironi Kiryat Ata's 42. Maccabi Raanana looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by forward Samme Givens (198-89, college: Drexel) who scored that evening 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Rian Pearson (193-90, college: Toledo) supported him with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Even 20 points and 8 rebounds by power forward Dallis Joyner (203-90, college: Stony Brook) did not help to save the game for Ironi Kiryat Ata. Guard Julien Mills (193-85, college: Ball St., agency: HMS) added 17 points and 7 rebounds. Four Ironi Kiryat Ata players scored in double figures. Maccabi Raanana maintains fifth position with 7-5 record. Ironi Kiryat Ata at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. Maccabi Raanana will meet Hasharon (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Ironi Kiryat Ata will play against the league's second-placed Hapoel B/S (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
