Regular Season Round 16: Roma E-basket - Catanzaro 77-55

Very expected game when 7th ranked Catanzaro (9-7) was crushed on the road by first ranked Roma E-basket (14-1) 77-55 on Wednesday. Roma E-basket dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Catanzaro's 32. They outrebounded Catanzaro 51-25 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Roma E-basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Catanzaro's players. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Eugenio Fanti (184-91) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international swingman Alex Righetti (198-77, agency: Interperformances) who added 18 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Roma E-basket players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Giacomo Sereni (202-84) responded with 22 points and 9 rebounds and guard Gianluca Carpanzano (188-95) scored 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Roma E-basket maintains first position in B with 14-1 record. Loser Catanzaro dropped to the sixth place with seven games lost. Roma E-basket will face Scafati Cesarano (#5) on the road in the next round. Catanzaro will play against Venafro and hope to win that game.
