Regular Season Round 16: Palermo - Scafati Cesarano 77-78

A very interesting game took place in Palermo. It ended with only one-point home defeat of one of their biggest challengers Palermo (12-4) to fifth ranked Scafati Cesarano (11-5) 78-77 in the fight for the fourth place. It was a very good performance for center Biagio Sergio (199-86) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 8 rebounds. Naturalized Croatian forward Marko Mlinar (200-83) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Four Scafati Cesarano players scored in double figures. Guard Marcello Cozzoli (188-90) replied with 24 points and swingman Nelson Rizzitiello (198-84) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Palermo. Scafati Cesarano moved-up to fourth place in B, which they share with Crema. Palermo at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Scafati Cesarano's next round opponent will be league's leader Roma E-basket at home and it may be the game of the week. Palermo will play against the league's second-placed Napoli Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
