Regular Season Round 6: Marinos - Gigantes 80-69

LPB top team - Marinos (6-0) managed to deliver another win on Thursday. This time they beat eighth ranked Gigantes (1-5) in Puerto La Cruz 80-69. Marinos looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for the former international forward Jesus Urbina (201-84, college: George Mason) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. The former international swingman Jose Vargas (195-82, agency: Pro Sports) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Marinos players scored in double figures. The former international forward Axiers Sucre (199-78) replied with 14 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Harold Cazorla (175-91) added 14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Gigantes. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Marinos have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 6-0 record. Gigantes lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with five games lost. They share the position with Trotamundos and Gaiteros. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
