Regular Season Round 15: Start Lublin - Anwil 62-97
Date: January 8, 2016
Not a big story in a game in Lublin where 15th ranked MKS Start (3-12) was rolled over by third ranked Anwil (12-4) 97-62 on Friday. The game without a history. Anwil led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to MKS Start's 22 and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Anwil forced 20 MKS Start turnovers. It was a great evening for Czech swingman David Jelinek (196-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points. The former international point guard Kamil Laczynski (183-89) helped adding 8 points and 7 assists. The best for the losing side was point guard Jan Grzelinski (180-94, college: Canisius) with 20 points and American guard Nick Kellogg (190-91, college: Ohio) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Anwil. They maintain third place with 12-4 record behind leader Stelmet ZG. MKS Start lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with 12 games lost. Anwil will face league's second-placed Rosa in Radom in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. MKS Start will play on the road against Stal Ostrow Wlkp. (#11) and hope to win that game.
