Regular Season Round 13: Alcobendas - Real Canoe 67-77

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Alcobendas (4-6) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Real Canoe (6-4) 77-67 on Saturday. Real Canoe forced 22 Alcobendas turnovers. Forward Ignacio Fort (200-83) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Miguel Bustillo (184-89) chipped in 12 points. Center Jose Maria Gil (207-91) produced 21 points and 9 rebounds and guard Guillermo Ruiz (185-95, college: Newberry) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Alcobendas' coach gave the chance to play for eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Real Canoe maintains sixth place in Group B with 6-4 record. Loser Alcobendas keeps the eighth position with six games lost. Real Canoe will face higher ranked Azuqueca (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Alcobendas will play against the league's second-placed Quintanar (#2) and hope to win that game.
