Regular Season Round 13: Gran Canaria - Casvi 63-48

There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Gran Canaria (3-7) won against at home higher ranked Casvi (3-7) 63-48 on Saturday. Gran Canaria forced 24 Casvi turnovers. Senegalese forward Mouhamed Barro (205-95) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Guard Joaquin Portugues (185-95) chipped in 17 points and 4 steals. Forward Alejandro Fortes (201-90) produced 7 points and 11 rebounds and forward Jorge Sanchez (198-94) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gran Canaria moved-up to tenth place in Group B, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Casvi. Gran Canaria will face higher ranked Torrelodones (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
