Regular Season Round 13: Valladolid Univ. - Easo 77-61

There was an upset when much higher ranked Easo (7-2) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Valladolid Univ. (5-4) 77-61 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Valladolid Univ.. Easo was better in fourth quarter 19-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Easo 51-29 including a 39-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Valladolid Univ. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Power forward Adrian Pascual (200-88) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Javier Martinez (187-97) chipped in 16 points. Four Valladolid Univ. players scored in double figures. Valladolid Univ.'s coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Inigo Del Valle (188-87) produced 23 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Jon Urtxulutegi (201-96) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Valladolid Univ. maintains sixth place in Group A-A with 5-4 record. Loser Easo keeps the second position with two games lost. Valladolid Univ. will face Zarautz (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Easo will play against Mondragon (#12) and hope to win that game.
