Regular Season Round 14: Rilski - Levski 2014 98-83

Rather expected game when 7th ranked Levski 2014 (5-9) lost to fourth ranked Rilski (9-5) in Samokov 83-98 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Rilski. Levski 2014 managed to win third quarter 26-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rilski dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Levski 2014's 38 and made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. American point guard Frank Turner (178-88, college: Canisius, agency: Inception Sports) notched 21 points and 8 assists to lead the effort and the other American import power forward Tony Gugino (207-86, college: Hillsdale) supported him with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Even 20 points and 4 assists by forward Yordan Minchev (202-98) did not help to save the game for Levski 2014. Guard Evgeni Hadjirusev (193-95) added 16 points for the guests. Five Rilski and four Levski 2014 players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rilski have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Beroe. Loser Levski 2014 keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Rilski will meet league's leader Lukoil Acad. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Levski 2014 will play against Academik Plovdiv (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
