Regular Season Round 13: Cazorla - Medacbasket 68-88

Rather predictable result when second ranked Medacbasket (7-2) outscored on the road 6th ranked Cazorla (2-7) 88-68 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Medacbasket. Cazorla was better in second period 14-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Medacbasket forced 30 Cazorla turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Alex Jackson (200-84, college: Mo.-St.Louis) fired 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Pablo Ibanez (198-93) chipped in 15 points and 5 steals. Jackson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Medacbasket players scored in double figures. Medacbasket's coach Javier Imbroda used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Senegalese center Mouhamadou Diop (212-83) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds and Pablo Aviles (195-92) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Medacbasket. They keep a position of Group D-East leader, which they share with Coin. Loser Cazorla keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. Medacbasket will face league's leader Coin at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cazorla will play against Cordoba (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
