Regular Season Round 16: Lourdes - GET Vosges 69-65

Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (11-5) defeated at home 8th ranked GET Vosges (8-7) 69-65 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 69-65. Lourdes-Tarbes made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian forward Darius Tarvydas (200-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and the former international point guard Xane Dalmeida (181-83) who added 13 points and 10 assists during the contest. At the losing side naturalized Belgian point guard Charly Pontens (190-95) responded with 11 points and 8 assists and forward Bernard M'Poy (197-87) scored 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four GET Vosges players scored in double figures. GET Vosges' coach Laurent Mathis tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lourdes-Tarbes moved-up to third place, which they share with St Vallier. Loser GET Vosges keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. Lourdes-Tarbes will face Quimper UJAP (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. GET Vosges will play against the league's second-placed Rueil (#2) and hope to win that game.
