Regular Season Round 16: Le Havre - Monaco 85-90

Date: January 9, 2016
Not a big story in a game when 18th ranked STB Le Havre (1-15) was defeated at home by second ranked Monaco (12-4) 90-85. STB Le Havre was ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 23-13 charge of Monaco, which allowed them to win the game. They made 21-of-24 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Strangely STB Le Havre outrebounded Monaco 37-22 including a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by American Jamal Shuler (191-86) who scored that evening 26 points and naturalized Ghanian Billy Ouattara (191-92) supported him with 20 points. Monaco's coach Zvezdan Mitrovic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of his seven free throws) by American-Bulgarian point guard Willie Deane (188-80, college: Purdue, agency: Higher Vision Sports) did not help to save the game for STB Le Havre. American center Elton Brown (206-83, college: Virginia) added 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for lost side. Four STB Le Havre players scored in double figures. Monaco keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. STB Le Havre lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. Monaco will play against Limoges CSP Elite (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. STB Le Havre will play against Pau-Lacq-Orthez (#9) to get more than just one victory in their record.
