Regular Season Round 17: Legia W-wa - GKS Tychy 80-68

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Warszawa. Third ranked Legia W-wa faced 4th placed GKS Tychy. Host Legia W-wa (13-4) defeated guests from Tychy (11-6) 80-68. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of GKS Tychy. 26 personal fouls committed by GKS Tychy helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Michal Aleksandrowicz (192-89) who scored 15 points. The former international center Cezary Trybanski (217-79) chipped in 17 points. Four Legia W-wa players scored in double figures. Power forward Tomasz Bzdyra (200-83) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds and the former international power forward Wojciech Barycz (208-84, agency: Interperformances) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Legia W-wa have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain third place with 13-4 record having just three points less than leader Krosno. GKS Tychy at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Pogon Prudnik. Legia W-wa are looking forward to face Slask 2 Wroclaw (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. GKS Tychy will play against AZS AWF Mick. (#15) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
