Regular Season Round 13: Novaschool - Cordoba 70-72

Important game to mention about took place in Malaga. Fourth ranked Cordoba (6-3) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Novaschool (2-7) 72-70 on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 72-70. Strangely Novaschool outrebounded Cordoba 40-25 including a 26-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard Jose Medina (185-93) fired 27 points for the winners. Forward Adolfo Vega (195-97) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Center Anastasio Vazquez (204-92) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 21 rebounds and forward Joaquin Reyes (196-96) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Novaschool's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Cordoba moved-up to third place in Group D-East, which they share with Andujar. Loser Novaschool keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Cordoba will face Cazorla (#6) at home in the next round. Novaschool will play against Velez in Velez-Malaga and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
