The game in Ciudad Victoria was also quite interesting. 6th ranked Abejas (10-15) played at the court of seventh ranked Correcaminos (9-13). Correcaminos managed to secure a 9-point victory 113-104 on Sunday. Correcaminos shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. American swingman Brandon Davis (198-88, college: Lamar, agency: Interperformances) nailed 32 points and 6 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import Theron Laudermill (202-89, college: CS San Bernar.) accounted for 22 points and 8 rebounds. Laudermill is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Correcaminos players scored in double figures. Guard Victor Buelna (192-78) came up with 16 points and 6 assists and forward Alexis Cervantes (200-88) added 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Abejas in the defeat. Correcaminos maintains seventh place with 9-13 record. Abejas lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 15 games lost. Correcaminos will again meet at home higher ranked Abejas (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Abejas will have a break next round.
