Regular Season Round 29: Santos - Indios 108-105

A very interesting game took place in San Luis Potosi. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 11th ranked Ciudad (6-18) to ninth ranked Santos (8-19) 108-105 on Sunday evening. Santos dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Ciudad's 40. They outrebounded Ciudad 50-35 including a 37-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Santos players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Chris Cayole (201-85, college: St.Michael's) who scored 39 points (!!!) and 7 assists. The former international forward Victor Mariscal (198-72) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. The former international power forward Arim Solares (202-83) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard John Taylor (185-89, college: Fresno Pacific) added 19 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Santos. Newly promoted Santos maintains ninth place with 8-19 record. Ciudad lost their eleventh game in a row. Ciudad at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. Santos' next round opponent will be again bottom-ranked Ciudad (#11) in Ciudad Juarez.
