AB Ancud survived an overtime thriller to tame CD Puerto Varas in the decisive fifth game of the quarterfinal series. AB Ancud therefore advanced into the semifinal stage. CD Puerto Varas trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 25-13 run in the last quarter tied the game at the end of regular time, But then they lost eventually overtime period 11-18. AB Ancud made 33-of-41 free shots (80.5 percent) during the game, while CD Puerto Varas only scored twelve points from the stripe. AB Ancud forced 20 CD Puerto Varas turnovers and outrebounded them 44-33 including 31 on the defensive glass. CD Puerto Varas were plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Venezuelan forward Juan Coronado (203-90, college: Liberty) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 24 rebounds. Jamaican-American guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point) chipped in 24 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Scott is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Jonathan Inman (196-87, college: Alabama A&M) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Ronald Cruces (177-87) added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
