Regular Season Round 13: Valencia II - Paterna 70-64

Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Paterna (5-7) was defeated on the road by third ranked Valencia-2 (8-4) 70-64 on Sunday. Paterna was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Valencia-2 forced 19 Paterna turnovers. Forward David Guardia (200-90) fired 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Jon Galarza (193-97) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Raul Abad (192-79) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and guard Carlos Cerdan (190-97) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Valencia-2. They maintain third place in Group E with 8-4 record having six points less than leader L'Hospitalet. Loser Paterna keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Valencia-2 will face Myrtia (#4) in Murcia in the next round. Paterna will play at home against UCAM Murcia II and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
