Regular Season Round 30: Shiga L-Stars - Gunma 93-59

The game between sixth ranked Shiga L-Stars (16-8) and 7th ranked Gunma (12-14) in Shiga on Monday ended with biggest points difference. Shiga L-Stars outscored guests from Gunma 93-59. The game was mostly controlled by Shiga L-Stars. Gunma managed to win fourth quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Gunma to just 7 points in second quarter. Shiga L-Stars dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Gunma's 30. They outrebounded Gunma 43-32 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) contributed with 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) replied with 20 points and 6 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and his fellow American import power forward Mike St.John (203-84, college: La Salle, agency: Global Sports Plaza) added 12 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Gunma. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shiga L-Stars moved-up to third place, which they share with Toyama Grouses. Gunma at the other side keeps the seventh position with 14 games lost. Shiga L-Stars is looking forward to face Shimane Magic (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Gunma will play against Saitama Broncos (#11) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
