Regular Season Round 26: Nova Ves - Nitra 71-84

Bottom-ranked Nova Ves (0-23) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 84-71 loss to eighth ranked Nitra (6-17) in Nova Ves. 25 personal fouls committed by Nova Ves helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Serbian forward Filip Pejovic (198-89, college: Erskine) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Ladislav Stojanov (194-88) supported him with 23 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 18 points and 16 rebounds by center Michal Dolnik (203-95) did not help to save the game for Nova Ves. Matej Majercak (183-99) added 11 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Nova Ves' coach David Demecko rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Nitra maintains eighth position with 6-17 record. Nova Ves at the other side still closes the standings. Nitra's next round opponent will be league's leader Prievidza at home and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Nova Ves will play against Rieker KN (#4) in Komarno and hope to get finally their first victory.
