Regular Season Round 17: Caen - Chartres 67-88

We should mention about the upset which took place in Caen, where higher ranked Caen (9-8) was outleveled at home by fourteenth ranked UB Chartres (7-9) 88-67 on Friday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Caen. The game without a history. UB Chartres led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian forward Vaidotas Pridotkas (200-84) who had a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds (on 16-of-20 shooting from the field). Bahamas forward Bennet Davis (204-84, college: Northeastern, agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Davis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American Bill Clark (200-88, college: Duquesne) produced 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import center Ian Caskill (208-81, college: JMU) added 7 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Caen's coach Herve Coudray gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. UB Chartres moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Berck and Challans. Newly promoted Caen keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. UB Chartres will face league's second-placed Rueil at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
