Metros got to a strong start to their Liga Americas campaign. They knocked down Los Leones in Santiago in Group A opening game for both sides. Adris De Leon finished with 19 points to lead the Dominican Republic team. Metros held the hosts to just 26 points in the first half to gain a 7-point lead. Metros followed with a 37:31 second half rally to seal the victory. Kelvin Pena accounted for 12 points for the winners. Stanley Robinson responded with 23 points and 9 rebounds for Los Leones.
