Very predictable result when third ranked Miedzychod (11-4) won against at home 11th ranked Gimbasket WRC (2-13) 74-63 on Saturday. Miedzychod forced 24 Gimbasket WRC turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for Marcin Chodkiewicz (200-82, agency: Promotex) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Adam Chodkiewicz (199-90) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Rafal Malitka (205-91) answered with 20 points and 7 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and forward Jakub Wajerowski (198-94) added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Gimbasket WRC. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Miedzychod. They maintain third place in Group D with 11-4 record having just three points less than leader Kotwica, which they share with Rawia. Loser Gimbasket WRC keeps the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Miedzychod will face Rawia (#4) in Rawicz in the next round. Gimbasket WRC will play at home against AZS PP (#8) and hope to win that game.
