There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Badajoz (4-6) defeated at home 4th ranked San Fernando (5-5) 69-65 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 37-29 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Sean Hill (188, college: Chicago St.) who scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Jose Manuel Cores chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Juan Antonio Rodriguez-Guerra (-89) produced 11 points and 7 rebounds and Daniel Tugores (185-95) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four San Fernando players scored in double figures. San Fernando's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Badajoz maintains sixth position in Group D-West with 4-6 record. Loser San Fernando keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Badajoz will face Naron (#6) on the road in the next round.
