Regular Season Round 31: Aomori Watts - Niigata Albirex 82-79

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Aomori Watts (12-15) edged at home 4th placed Niigata Albirex (16-11) 82-79 on Saturday. Niigata Albirex was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Aomori Watts shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. It was a great evening for American guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Jesse Perry (200-89, college: Arizona) helped adding 13 points and 10 rebounds. Aomori Watts' coach Koshirashi Munakata used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American guard Reggie Hamilton (182-89, college: Oakland) responded with 29 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Jamaican-American power forward Ryan Reid (204-86, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds. Four Niigata Albirex players scored in double figures. Aomori Watts maintains ninth place with 12-15 record. Niigata Albirex lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fourth position with 11 games lost. Aomori Watts will face again higher ranked Niigata Albirex (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
