Regular Season Round 15: Start Lublin II - AZS UMCS 54-77

Very predictable result when third ranked AZS UMCS (11-4) rolled over on the road 9th ranked Start Lublin II (5-10) 77-54 on Sunday. AZS UMCS forced 25 Start Lublin II turnovers and outrebounded them 36-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for swingman Bartlomiej Karolak (198-92) who led his team to a victory with 37 points (!!!) and 5 steals. Forward Rafal Krol (200-87) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Bartosz Ciechocinski (203-91) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds and Pawel Kowalski (197-83) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Start Lublin II. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for AZS UMCS. They moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Gimbasket PRZM. Newly promoted Start Lublin II keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. AZS UMCS will face KK Warszawa (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Start Lublin II will play against Shmoolky W-wa in Warszawa and hope to win that game.
