Regular Season Round 14: Miramar - AEC Collblanc 64-71

Rather expected game when one of their biggest challengers Miramar (7-7) was defeated at home by second ranked AEC Collblanc (9-5) 71-64 on Sunday. AEC Collblanc made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Strangely Miramar outrebounded AEC Collblanc 49-36 including 19 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was point guard Josep Maria Guzman (182-84) who scored 16 points. Power forward Javi Rodriguez (202-92) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Center Carlos Poyatos (207-94) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 blocks and forward Javier Medori (200-93) added 13 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. AEC Collblanc have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position in Group C-B with 9-5 record having five points less than leader L'Hospitalet. Newly promoted Miramar dropped to the third place with seven games lost. AEC Collblanc will face Castellbisbal (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Miramar will play against the league's leader L'Hospitalet (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
