Very predictable result when seventh ranked Umana Venezia (9-7) beat at home 15th ranked O.Lavoro BO (5-11) 73-69 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. O.Lavoro BO was trailing by 13 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 22-15 charge of Umana Venezia, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Mike Green (185-85, college: Butler) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and Greek swingman Michael Bramos (196-87, college: Miami, OH) who added 11 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Umana Venezia's coach Carlo Recalcati used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American forward Roderick Odom (206-91, college: Vanderbilt) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import center Dexter Pittman (208-88, college: Texas) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Umana Venezia moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Banco di Srd. O.Lavoro BO lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. They share it with VL Pesaro and Auxilium TO. Umana Venezia will meet bottom-ranked Betaland CdO (#16) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. O.Lavoro BO will play against Enel Brindisi and hope to secure a win.
