AV Cantu led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Strangely Betaland CdO outrebounded AV Cantu 48-34 including a 21-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when AV Cantu made 9 blocks. Worth to mention a quality performance of U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and Canadian Brady Heslip (191-90, college: Baylor) who added 16 points during the contest. Four AV Cantu players scored in double figures. AV Cantu's coach Sergey Bazarevich felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American power forward Alex Oriakhi (208-90, college: Connecticut) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 17 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Keaton Nankivil (203-89, college: Wisconsin) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. AV Cantu moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Openjobmetis V. and Enel Brindisi. Betaland CdO lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. AV Cantu will meet higher ranked Banco di Srd (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Betaland CdO will play against Umana Venezia (#6) and hope to secure a win.
