Regular Season Round 32: Takamatsu FA - Kyoto Hannar. 81-87

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Takamatsu FA (8-18) was defeated at home by first ranked Kyoto Hannar. (21-5) 87-81 on Sunday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-10. But Takamatsu FA won second period 27-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kyoto Hannar. looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 16 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Forward Tyren Johnson (202-88, college: La-Lafayette) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Kyoto Hannar. players scored in double figures. Kyoto Hannar.'s coach Honoo Hamaguchi used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Jarvis Williams (198-89, college: Minn.St.-Mankato, agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and power forward Anthony Kent (208-83, college: Ball St.) added 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Kyoto Hannar. have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 21-5 record. Loser Takamatsu FA keeps the tenth place with 18 games lost. Kyoto Hannar. will face Shimane Magic (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Takamatsu FA will play against Kanazawa Samuraiz (#7) in Ishikawa and hope to win that game.
