Date: January 18, 2016
Very expected game in Kiryat Gat where 11th ranked Maccabi K/G (4-12) was defeated by sixth ranked Ironi Nahariya (9-8) 100-89. It looked good early as Maccabi K/G took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Ironi Nahariya had a 26-11 second period charge getting the lead and Maccabi K/G was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 89-100. Ironi Nahariya shot 63.2 percent from the field and made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Ironi Nahariya especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 69.2 percentage. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. It was a very good performance for swingman Cameron Clark (201-91, college: Oklahoma) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Richard Howell (203-90, college: N.Carolina St.) contributed with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Point guard Paul Delaney (188-86, college: UAB, agency: Three Eye Sports) replied with 28 points, 8 assists and 5 steals (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and power forward Marco Killingsworth (203-82, college: Indiana, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 22 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Maccabi K/G. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ironi Nahariya maintains sixth position with 9-8 record. Newly promoted Maccabi K/G dropped to the bottom place with 12 games lost. Ironi Nahariya's next round opponent will be higher ranked Bnei Hasharon (#4) in Hod Hasharon and it may be quite challenging game. Maccabi K/G will play on the road against Hapoel Eilat (#8) and hope to win that game.
