Important game to mention about took place in Denain. Fourteenth ranked Denain Voltaire (6-8) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 11th ranked Lille Metropole (5-8) 71-69 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Lille Metropole. Lille Metropole was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 22-17 charge of Denain Voltaire, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Lille Metropole outrebounded Denain Voltaire 38-23 including 23 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American swingman Austin Hollins (195-91, college: Minnesota) who scored 19 points. The other American import point guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) chipped in 13 points. Denain Voltaire's coach Jean-Christophe Prat used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Naturalized Burkinabe Jean-Victor Traore (204-85) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and center Guy-Marc Michel (213-88, college: Indiana, agency: Three Eye Sports) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Denain Voltaire moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Lille Metropole dropped to the sixteenth position with eight games lost. Denain Voltaire will face bottom-ranked Orchesien BC (#18) in Orchies in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lille Metropole will play on the road against JA Vichy and hope to win that game.
