Regular Season Round 14: Vichy Clermont - Poitiers 85-67

There was an upset when higher ranked Poitiers (7-7) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked JA Vichy (6-7) 85-67 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by JA Vichy. Poitiers was better in second period 25-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JA Vichy dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Poitiers' 28. The best player for the winners was power forward Charles-Henri Bronchard (200-82, agency: Court Side) who scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. American swingman Jason Williams (198-83, college: UTEP, agency: HMS) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Five JA Vichy players scored in double figures. JA Vichy's coach Fabien Romeyer used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American-British power forward Laurence Ekperigin (201-88, college: Le Moyne) produced 14 points and 9 rebounds and American point guard Darrin Dorsey (188, college: Dakota Wesleyan) added 16 points, 5 assists and 4 steals respectively for the guests. JA Vichy moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Souffel. Loser Poitiers dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. JA Vichy will face Lille Metropole (#16) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
