Regular Season Round 32: Correcaminos - Indios 101-106

There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Ciudad (8-21) beat 8th ranked Correcaminos (10-17) in Ciudad Victoria 106-101 on Friday. The winners were led by the former international power forward Arim Solares (202-83) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 25 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and American swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) supported him with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Even a double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds by American swingman Brandon Davis (198-88, college: Lamar, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Correcaminos. His fellow American import guard Harrison Smith (190-87, college: Texas Southern, agency: Inception Sports) added 16 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Correcaminos' coach Luis Andres Garcia rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Ciudad maintains tenth position with 8-21 record. Loser Correcaminos dropped to the ninth place with 17 games lost. Ciudad will meet at home higher ranked Fuerza Regia (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Correcaminos will play against the league's second-placed Soles (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
