Regular Season Round 17: Eco Orebro - Malbas 88-103

Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Malbas (7-13) won against on the road bottom-ranked Eco Orebro (3-15) 103-88 on Friday. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 15 points. Malbas shot 66.7 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 60.9 percentage. American guard Darion Rackley (190-92, college: Jacksonville St.) nailed 36 points (!!!) for the winning side and the former international center Carl Engstrom (216-91, college: Alabama) accounted for 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Bosnian Nebojsa Pavlovic (200-87, agency: HMS) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds and American forward Justin Baker (203-89, college: Utah Valley) added 21 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Eco Orebro in the defeat. Five Malbas and four Eco Orebro players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Malbas maintains eighth place with 7-13 record. Eco Orebro lost their sixth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Malbas will meet at home higher ranked LF Basket (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Eco Orebro will play against the league's leader Sodertalje Kings (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
