Regular Season Round 17: Anwil - Stal Ostrow 70-60

Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Anwil (13-5) won against 8th ranked Stal Ostrow Wlkp. (8-9) in Wloclawek 70-60. The game was mostly controlled by Anwil. Stal Ostrow Wlkp. was better in third quarter 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Anwil brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The former international swingman Bartosz Diduszko (198-87) stepped up and scored 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and the former international point guard Robert Skibniewski (182-83) chipped in 13 points. Four Anwil players scored in double figures. American guard Curtis Millage (188-81, college: Arizona St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international Marcin Sroka (201-81, agency: Promotex) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Anwil moved-up to third place, which they share with Torun. Newly promoted Stal Ostrow Wlkp. keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with AZS Koszalin and Wilki Morskie. Anwil will play against PGE Turow (#12) in Zgorzelec in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Stal Ostrow Wlkp. will play at home against the league's second-placed Rosa (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
