Regular Season Round 14: Hokkaido L. - Tochigi Brex 74-64

Round 14 in NBL means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Saporro where host Hokkaido L. (13-13) beat league's leader Tochigi Brex (20-6) 74-64 on Sunday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Hokkaido L.. Tochigi Brex managed to win second period 19-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Tochigi Brex to just 6 points in third quarter. Hokkaido L. made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Jahmar Thorpe (198-84, college: Houston) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) produced a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds and guard Tommy Brenton (196-89, college: Stony Brook) added 7 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hokkaido L. maintains sixth position with 13-13 record. Tochigi Brex at the other side dropped to the second place with six games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Toyota Alvark. Tochigi Brex will play next round against Nishinomiya S. trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Hokkaido L. will try to continue on its current victory against first ranked Toyota Alvark in Tokyo.
