There was a minor upset in Lugo where 9th ranked Gijon (2-7) was rolled over by twelfth ranked Estudiantes L. (2-8) 93-64 on Sunday. The game without a history. Estudiantes L. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Estudiantes L. forced 20 Gijon turnovers. It was a great evening for guard Roberto Abuin (190-95) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Jose Antonio Lopez (190-96) helped adding 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Estudiantes L. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Diego Gonzalez (200-84) with 12 points and 8 rebounds and forward Jorge Escapa (198-92) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Estudiantes L. moved-up to tenth place in Group A-B, which they share with Rosalia. Newly promoted Gijon keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. Estudiantes L. will face Rosalia (#11) in Santiago de Camp. in the next round.
