Regular Season Round 14: Hitachi SR - Toyota Alvark 71-83
Date: January 24, 2016
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Tokyo: Toyota Alvark (#2) and Hitachi Sunrockers (#5). Hitachi Sunrockers were defeated at home 71-83 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The game was mostly controlled by Toyota Alvark. Forward Richard Solomon (208-92, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Toyota Alvark's coach Takuma Ito allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Power forward Joshua Heytvelt (210-86, college: Gonzaga) replied with 26 points and 7 rebounds and forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Hitachi Sunrockers. Five Toyota Alvark and four Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. Toyota Alvark (20-4) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader.
