The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Hapoel Afula (12-3) at the home court on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Ironi Kiryat Ata (11-4) 86-73. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Hapoel Afula. Ironi Kiryat Ata looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for American guard Julien Mills (193-85, college: Ball St., agency: HMS) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Naturalized Canadian point guard Simon Farine (188-87) contributed with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Puerto Rican forward Gilberto Clavell (200-89, college: Sam Houston St., agency: Inception Sports) answered with 27 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized Russian Igor Simin (199-84) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Hapoel Afula. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ironi Kiryat Ata maintains third place with 11-4 record behind leader Hapoel G/A, which they share with Hapoel B/S. Hapoel Afula at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Galil Gilboa. Ironi Kiryat Ata is looking forward to face Hapoel Kazrin (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hapoel Afula will play against Hasharon (#9) in Ramat Hasharon and is hoping to win this game.
