Regular Season Round 35: Qingdao E. - Guangsha L. 133-140

Very expected game when 13th ranked Qingdao Eagles (15-20) were defeated at home by sixth ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (25-10) 140-133 on Friday. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions outrebounded Qingdao Eagles 47-34 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Qingdao Eagles were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American point guard Jeremy Pargo (188-86, college: Gonzaga, agency: Priority Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 16 assists. Taiwanese guard Chih-Chieh Lin (192-82) helped adding 24 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St., agency: Three Eye Sports) responded with 48 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Chengyu Zhang (193-89) scored 27 points and 5 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Guangdong ST. Qingdao Eagles lost their third game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 20 games lost. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will face Shanxi Zhongyu (#11) in Taiyuan in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Qingdao Eagles will play at home against Foshan and hope to win that game.
