The game in Sao Paulo was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Brasilia (12-5) played at the court of 8th ranked Vivo/Franca (9-9). Brasilia managed to secure a 8-point victory 79-71 on Friday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Vivo/Franca. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-17. But Vivo/Franca won second period 21-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Vivo/Franca 42-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. International point guard Deryk Ramos (185-94) fired 26 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Fulvio de Assis (188-81) chipped in 3 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Thiago Mathias (206-89, college: N.Mexico JC) produced 12 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Welington Dos Santos (185-81) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Brasilia. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Paulistano. Loser Vivo/Franca dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Pinheiros. Brasilia will meet league's second-placed Paschoalotto/Bauru on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vivo/Franca will play against Caxias do Sul (#15) and hope to secure a win.
