Regular Season Round 18: Malbas - LF Basket 86-97

The game in Malmo was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked LF Basket (13-9) played at the court of 8th ranked Malbas (8-14). LF Basket defeated Malbas 97-86 on Friday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Malbas. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 51-39 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. LF Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Malbas' 26. Strangely Malbas outrebounded LF Basket 38-22 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Croatian guard Toni Prostran (182-91) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW) chipped in 19 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. LF Basket's coach Peter Oqvist used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American guard Darion Rackley (190-92, college: Jacksonville St.) with 21 points and 7 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and Serbian-Canadian forward Aleksandar Danilovic (202-93) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. LF Basket have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted Malbas keep the eighth position with 14 games lost. LF Basket will face Uppsala Basket (#7) at home in the next round. Malbas will play against Umea and hope to win that game.
