Regular Season Round 15: Toyota Alvark - Hokkaido L. 85-66

NBL top team - Toyota Alvark (23-4) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Hokkaido L. (13-16) in Tokyo 85-66. The game was mostly controlled by Toyota Alvark. Hokkaido L. managed to win fourth quarter 20-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Toyota Alvark especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. It was a quality performance for American forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) who led the winners and scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. The former international forward Daiki Tanaka (191-91) accounted for 15 points for the winning side. American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) came up with 29 points and 9 rebounds and the former international center Fumihiko Aono (210-78) added 7 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Hokkaido L. in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Toyota Alvark have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 23-4 record. Hokkaido L. lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 16 games lost. Toyota Alvark will meet Nishinomiya S. (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hokkaido L. will play against Toshiba Thunders (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
