Regular Season Round 20: Hanau - Kirchheim 70-84

Date: January 30, 2016
Not a big story in a game in Hanau where 12th ranked White Wings (8-12) were defeated by third ranked Kirchheim Knights (15-6) 84-70 on Saturday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Kirchheim Knights's pressure prevailed and they won that period 28-21 extending their advantage to 14 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to White Wings' 22. Kirchheim Knights forced 20 White Wings turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Richard Williams (177-87, college: San Diego St.) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Tim Koch (196-89) who added 18 points during the contest. Four Kirchheim Knights players scored in double figures. Forward Robin Christen (202-91) responded with 16 points and American guard Miles Jackson-Cartwright (190-92, college: Pennsylvania) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kirchheim Knights have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 15-6 record having just two points less than leader Jena. Newly promoted White Wings keep the twelfth place with 12 games lost. Kirchheim Knights will meet at home Bayer Giants (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. White Wings will play against BV Chemnitz 99 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
