The game in Artemisa was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Villa Clara (6-4) played at the court of 5th ranked Los Toros (4-6). Villa Clara managed to secure a 5-point victory 83-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Los Toros. Villa Clara forced 21 Los Toros turnovers. The former international swingman Andy Boffil (190-82) notched 36 points (!!!), 6 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and international center Yoel Cubillas (204-94) supported him with 17 points. Even a double-double of 11 points and 16 rebounds by the former international center Humberto Garcia (203-85) did not help to save the game for Los Toros. The former international point guard Osmel Oliva (178-87) added 20 points and 4 assists for lost side. Villa Clara moved-up to third place, which they share with Camaguey. Los Toros at the other side keep the fifth position with six games lost. Villa Clara's next round opponent will be Pinar (#6) in Rio. Los Toros will play at home against Guantanamo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
