Regular Season Round 16: Clavijo - Burgos 81-68

There was a small surprise in Logrono where twelfth ranked Clavijo (4-8) beat 9th ranked Burgos (3-8) 81-68 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 44-24 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Clavijo made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Lithuanian Mantvydas Staselis (189-94) fired 32 points (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. Point guard Brais Gago (180-96) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. Four Clavijo players scored in double figures. Center Txomin Lopez (204-78) produced 16 points and 9 rebounds and forward Alvaro Gomez (192-84) added 17 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Clavijo moved-up to ninth place in Group A-A. Loser Burgos dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. Clavijo will face Venta de Banos (#11) at home in the next round. Burgos will play against Santurtzi and hope to win that game.
