No shocking result in a game in Arroyo Encomienda where seventh ranked Valladolid Univ. (6-6) defeated 14th ranked La Fecha (2-10) 73-62 on Saturday. The game without a history. Valladolid Univ. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Valladolid Univ. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Guard Alvaro Martinez (185-92) fired 20 points for the winners. Forward Pedro Gonzalez (195-89) chipped in 6 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Millan Lopez (185-94) produced 17 points and guard Jorge Martinez (181-96) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Valladolid Univ. maintains seventh position in Group A-A with 6-6 record. Newly promoted La Fecha keeps the fourteenth place with ten games lost. Valladolid Univ. will face higher ranked Cantbasket (#6) in Santander in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. La Fecha will play at home against Mondragon (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
