Regular Season Round 16: L`Alfas - Myrtia 66-78

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Myrtia's (9-5) road victory over 5th ranked L`Alfas (6-8) 78-66 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 78-66. L`Alfas was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Jorge Lledo (203-80) fired 21 points for the winners. Guard Pepe Llorente (185-82) chipped in 18 points. Iker Benzazoua produced 15 points and 5 rebounds and center Jesus Sanmartin (199-86) added 14 points respectively for lost side. L`Alfas' coach let to play ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Myrtia maintains fourth position in Group E with 9-5 record. L`Alfas lost third consecutive game. L`Alfas at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. Myrtia will face league's second-placed Almassera in Valencia in the next round and it may be the game of the week. L`Alfas will play at home against Paterna (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
